Anti-Crime Camera Are Up and Running!

May 2 was an extraordinary day in our community! The Throggs Neck BID announced, at a major event held at the 45 Precinct, that the anti-crime cameras we fought for are now up and running, paid for with state funds procured by Assembly Member Benedetto. Council Member Kristy Marmorato, State Senator Fernandez, and former Assembly Member Stephen Kaufman joined Bid Executive Director Bob Jaen and the head of the 45 Precinct, Deputy Inspector Johnny A. Orellana in making the long-awaited announcement.

TN BID’s Anti-Crime Efforts Recognized

The Throggs Neck BID has fought diligently to make our community safer. That effort is being recognized by the 45th Precinct Council! Cannabis Complaints

You can report an incident to the office of cannabis management.  

  • a concern about a cannabis business which includes businesses that sell cannabis products including unlicensed business locations, sales to a minor or consumption in unauthorized areas
  • an adverse health event which includes any troublesome or undesired medical occurrence or symptom associated with the use of a cannabis product.
  • or a concern regarding a cannabis product, such as product safety, product mislabeling, product formulation or product expiration date.

 The information requested is necessary for the Office of Cannabis Management to review your concern.

Seek immediate medical attention or advice if you are currently experiencing a serious or troublesome cannabis-related symptom(s). Call your health care provider or the Poison Center at (800) 222-1222.

Permanent Outdoor Dining Program

Applications for Dining Out NYC, the City’s new permanent outdoor dining program, are now open! Restaurants that are actively participating in the temporary Open Restaurants program need to apply by August 3, 2024 in order to continue operating outdoor dining setups. Once their application is approved,outdoor dining setups will need to comply with the permanent Dining Out NYC design requirements within 30 days.

An online application, information about the new guidelines and resources available to help can be found at www.nyc.gov/diningoutnyc. Businesses can call 212-839-4500 with any questions.  

How to Apply

Eligible food service establishments may apply for outdoor dining in the roadway, sidewalk, or both!

The application is available in English and Spanish, with additional languages available soon.

Key dates

March 5, 2024: Food service establishments may begin applying online to join the Dining Out NYC program!

August 3, 2024: Deadline for food service establishments with existing temporary outdoor dining setups to apply to continue operating until NYC DOT approves the application.

November 1, 2024: A temporary program outdoor dining setup that applied before August 3, 2024 must comply with the new Dining Out NYC design requirements by the earlier of: (i) 30 days after NYC DOT approves the Dining Out NYC application or (ii) November 1, 2024.
