The Throggs Neck BID Gala was an extraordinary success! Great entertainment was provided by the Performers Edge Dance Academy, and funds were raised for that group as well as for Tunnels to Towers. Honorees included Michael Sang and Carmelo Soto of HK’s Kitchen, Sharon Camilleri of Got Hair, and Angela Torres o the Throggs Neck Alliance. An incredible time was had by the hundreds of participants. Special thanks goes to the volunteers who worked diligently to plan for and made the evening so wonderful.

Disaster Help
That rain last week was terrible! Is your business facing problems because of it? The Throggs Neck BID works with NYC’s Small Business Services (SBS) organization, which has sent the following message:
SBS can help local businesses impacted by emergencies. Our team works closely with NYC Emergency Management and other key New York City agencies to restore business operations as soon as possible. Take advantage of our free resources:
Our Emergency Response Unit can:
Provide businesses with the latest emergency information on street closures, utility disruptions, security, and demolitions.
Once the business location is declared safe by the NYC Department of Buildings and Fire Department of New York (FDNY), we can help business-owners regain access to their business location and recover their salvageable items.
Coordinate with the NYC Police Department and other emergency responders to make sure their business location is secure and prevent losses.
Connect businesses to local business organizations for possible relocation assistance.
Help accelerate re-inspections, applications, and permit processes to restore business operations.
Connect businesses to an attorney for free legal advice.
Our SBS Business Preparedness & Resiliency Program (BPrep) also offers business continuity workshops, webinars, and online preparedness resources. This year, SBS launched a Self-Assessment Tool and a Digital Library as part of the BPrep program. These business preparedness resources provide businesses with easier access to disruption remediation measures, customized assessments, and recommendations tailored to their unique needs.
For assistance, contact our Emergency Response Unit through the SBS Hotline at 888-SBS-4NYC (888-727-4692) or via email at eru@sbs.nyc.gov.
Please also sign up for Notify NYC here to get the most up-to-date alerts from the City.
You can also become a Private Sector partner of NYC Emergency Management by joining here, and you’ll receive additional information.

The Throggs Neck BID has fulfilled a community dream!
It has long been hoped that a shuttle could provide transportation throughout the commercial corridor, from the golf course, through the BID, to Westchester Square and back. The FREE 20-passenger wheelchair-accessible bus will have 10 stops, with seven along East Tremont Avenue connecting Throggs Neck with the Westchester Square subway stop, two along the Hutchinson River Parkway and another at Ferry Point Park. The service is available Monday through Friday from 10am—7pm. The Bally’s corporation, which has taken over the Trump Links Golf Course, is generously funding the shuttle. State Senator Nathalia Fernandez played a crucial role in bringing this goal to fruition.
On Sunday, the Throggs Neck Bid assisted the Family Worship Center in presenting an Annual Community Day and Health Fair. Hot food, snacks and desserts were provided, children in attendance enjoyed games and activities, along with giveaways and health information.
