Here’s How to get the free Bally’s/BID shuttle:

The shuttle will pick you up on any corner if they are stopped, You can scan the QR code on the back of the bus for regular pick up locations. The Shuttle, as of August 14, operates Wednesday–Sunday.

These are the stops:

Stop 1: Bally’s at Ferry Point Park

Stop 2: Lafayette Avenue and Hutchinson River Parkway

Stop 3: Cross Bronx Expressway Extension and East Tremont Avenue

Stop 4: Randall Avenue Tremont Avenue

Stop 5: Lafayette Avenue and Tremont Avenue

Stop 6: Bruckner Blvd and East Tremont Avenue

Stop 7: Waterbury Avenue and East Tremont Avenue

Stop 8: 2995 East Tremont Avenue

Stop 9: Westchester Square Subway

Stop 10: 815 Hutchinson River Parkway

The entire route takes 30 minutes to complete

Despite stormy weather, the Throggs Neck BID-cosponsored National Night Out Against Crime was a great success,. It drew a large crowd that was provided with delicious food, numerous games and treats, and information from several elected officials (Councilmember Marmorato, Senator Fernandez and Assemblymember Benedetto, who attended, helped co-sponsor the event, along with the 45th Precinct Community Council.) Pictured is Deputy Inspector Johnny A. Orellana, head of the 45. He and his staff have been tireless in their efforts to make Throggs Neck one of the safest in the city. BID Director Bob Jaen addressed the crowd, thanking Inspector Orellana for his efforts.

The Throggs Neck BID was recognized for its efforts in closing down unlicensed cannabis storefronts at an event noting the shuttering of one such establishment. Mayor Adams, Bronx Borough President Vanessa Gibson, Bronx District Attorney Darcel Clark, Council Member Kristi Marmorato, the NYPD and the Sheriff’s office spoke at the event.

We have taken a leading role in fighting the rise in illegal cannabis sales that exists throughout New York City, and in our neighborhood as well.  Working with Community Board 10, we are providing the following letter to assist landlords in stopping unwanted activity on their premises:

Dear Property Owner:

Firstly, thank you for your investment in our beloved community. Because of you, East Tremont Avenue is filled with stores that are residents are excited to support. Since 2020,  our business and community district has seen “smoke shops” open only to sell tobacco, cannabis and smoking products without proper permits or license. Often these “smoke shops” purport themselves as simple delicatessens. However, that is not the case. Many property owners soon find out that illegal activity is occurring because City and/or State of New York agencies may have issued violations or cease-and-desist-letters to the property. Because a property owner signed a lease with the business owner, it can be quite difficult to proceed through the legal system in a timely manner to obtain eviction.

To counteract the potential misuse of your property, we encourage that your lease stipulates the following:

“If the business is issued any violations or summonses from any City of New York or State of New York enforcement agency for selling or dispensing any unpermitted or unlicensed product, it will result in the immediate termination of this contract.”

If you were to include this stipulation, it may help protect you as a property owner when commencing eviction proceedings for cause. Please know that you should always consult your attorney. There are some property owners who have used this stipulation successfully. This is merely our advice on how to reduce the number of delicatessens that are actually “smoke shops” that sell tobacco and cannabis without permit.
